Directions

Tartar sauce is a creamy condiment traditionally made from mayonnaise, diced pickles, capers, and various herbs, creating a tangy and flavorful dip. Often served alongside fried seafood like fish and chips, its zesty profile enhances the dish, making each bite more enjoyable. Variations may include ingredients like lemon juice or dill, adding a personal touch to this beloved classic. Whether enjoyed at a seaside diner or at home, tartar sauce remains a timeless favorite for seafood lovers.

preparation

1. In a deep bowl, mix sour cream and homemade mayonnaise.
2. Cut the pickled cucumbers (it’s better to take pickled gherkins) into small cubes. Add to sour cream and mayonnaise.
3. Peel and finely chop the garlic, also add to sour cream and mayonnaise, pepper the sauce to taste and mix well.
4. Leave to stand in the refrigerator for 15 minutes so that all the flavors mix and open.
