1. Peel and seed the pumpkin, then cut it into small cubes. Place it in a saucepan and pour in the milk.
2. Cook the pumpkin until soft, then add the rinsed rice.
3. Add sugar and vanilla (vanilla sugar can be used).
4. Simmer over low heat until the rice is tender and the liquid has almost evaporated.
5. Before serving, stir in the butter.
