Interesting Facts:
1. Golubtsi have a centuries-old history and are found in many cuisines of the world, such as Ukrainian, Polish, German and others.
2. This dish allows you to experiment with ingredients. In different cultures, it is prepared with different types of meat, rice, mushrooms, or even only with vegetables, which makes it an option for vegetarians.

Life hacks:
1. Meat: you can mix several types of meat, for example, pork and chicken, beef and pork, then the cabbage rolls will have a richer and brighter taste.
2. Boiling cabbage: immerse the cabbage in boiling water for a few minutes before rolling the cabbage rolls to make it easier to roll out the leaves.

Preparation

1. Cabbage is immersed in boiling water for a few minutes to make it softer. Remove the leaves and cool.

2. Cut onions and carrots, fry until golden (reserve half of the frying to add to the gravy), add minced beef (or rice or mushrooms for vegetarians). Season with salt and pepper.
3. Unfold the cabbage leaves and put a little minced meat on each leaf. Roll up in a cabbage roll.
4. Put the cabbage rolls in a deep pan, put fried onions and carrots on top. Pour tomato paste (or 2-3 tomatoes ground in a blender), add a little salt, pepper and 1 tablespoon of honey, add water to cover the cabbage rolls.
5. Cook over low heat until the cabbage rolls are soft (about 1-1.5 hours).

This is a simple and delicious recipe. A great option for dinner or lunch!
